This year marks three years with EmpowerHer, and it has been such an honor every time.
The first year, I stood in a room with 70 extremely talented and accomplished women artists from all over, and I felt truly inspired — my soul was fulfilled being in that kind of company.
By the second year, the show felt even bigger than the art itself. It became proof that women are the creators of this world — we birth life, we birth stories, we birth entire realities with our hands, our voices, and our visions. That year's show even landed on a full moon, and the alignment was fully felt.
This third year brought something I'm especially proud of: I was chosen as one of the first EmpowerHer resident artists at the Central Library. Getting to show my space there, alongside a bus tour and films from other talented women artists, made the whole weekend feel like a full-circle moment.
Three years in, and I'm still just as honored to be part of this community of women lifting each other up.
